The Mission Behind the Method

I mapped the system from inside it —
mechanism by mechanism, wall by wall —
so you could finally see what was happening to you.
My Story
I spent years looking for the language to describe what was happening in my marriage. It didn’t exist. So I built it.
I know what it feels like to lie in bed running a threat assessment before your partner walks through the door. To rehearse conversations in your head so they land safely. To explain the same thing forty different ways and still be told you’re the problem.
I also know the relief that comes when the chaos suddenly has a name — when what felt like confusion reveals itself as a system, and you realize you were never the problem. You were inside one.
That’s what I did. I documented the patterns, mapped the escalations, and traced the architecture underneath what had looked like chaos. What I learned is that the system is real, it is buildable, and it is dismantleable — for anyone who can see it clearly. What emerged is the framework that powers everything at Restored Autonomy.
What I Built
A three-system framework for seeing coercive control with precision.
Every framework below is original work — developed from lived experience, forensic documentation, and years of pattern analysis. These are the tools I wish someone had handed me.
The Chestnut Classification™ (CC-7)
Seven mechanisms of coercive control — a classification system that names not just that you are being controlled, but how, and through which specific patterns.
The Shame Architecture™ (SA-7)
Seven domains of installed shame — mapping what each mechanism builds inside you and why the shame feels like identity instead of installation.
The Keys of Autonomy™ (KA-7)
Seven recovery pathways — each one paired to a specific mechanism and designed to dismantle what was built in that domain.
The Triad of Conscription™
How children are conscripted into coercive control through three roles: The Crisis Carrier™, The Information Proxy™, and The Structural Wedge™.
The Engineered Cage™
The course that walks you through the full system — mechanism by mechanism — and teaches you to take it apart.
Who This Is For
If you found this page, you were looking for something specific.
Maybe you began searching for terms that describe a reality you haven’t yet shared with anyone else. Maybe a friend sent you this link. Maybe you’ve been carrying something heavy for so long that the weight became normal.
You might be a woman who is still inside it — trying to figure out if what’s happening to you has a name. You might be a woman who left and still can’t shake the fog. You might be a mother who lies awake wondering what your children are absorbing.
Wherever you are in that spectrum, this work was built for you. The assessments are free. The language is yours to keep. And you do not have to be ready to leave to start seeing clearly.
“You cannot fix a system you haven’t mapped. Restored Autonomy is the map.”
